Advice kindly sought on ‘technical’ Marriott calendar question
Firstly, many thanks for reading this — I do greatly appreciate it. :)
Would any OMAATers possibly be able to advise me about a technical aspect of the Marriott calendar, specifically the exact time — to the second/minute each week — when the calendar advances by one week?
I was already aware of the calendar’s ‘356 rule’ (50 weeks + 6 days into the future), and had subsequently read online that Marriott advances its calendar by a further week at 03:00am Eastern time on a Sunday each week. However, I decided to ‘road-test’ this today: that is, yep, I sat up until 3am Eastern time today, primed to refresh my Marriott.com calendar shortly before 03:00am… but, well, when I went to hit F5 at 02:57am, I noticed that the calendar had already advanced one week by that time, i.e. the calendar had already advanced an additional week before the mooted 03:00am weekly Sunday time that it was supposed to advance a further week.
Consequently, would any OMAATers know if there is an actual, specific, to-the-second time on a Sunday when Marriott advances their calendar (in the same way as, say, JAL loads their award seat inventory at precisely 10:00am 330 days in the future; different things, I know, but you know what I mean)? I’m not meaning to sound entirely unhinged about wanting to know this kind of stuff! 🙂 It’s just that I’m desperate to get a handle on this, largely because I’m try to book an aspirational holiday for my elderly mother.
Any advice at all would be very welcome indeed. All the best.
