There is a promotion with American Airlines selling miles with 10% bonus. I was thinking of buying 150,000 miles with 100,000 bonus miles at a cost of $4,311.19. We travel a lot internationally, mostly coach. Is this a good deal?

If you know how you are going to redeem the miles, I would say go for it.

@Lindita, I wouldn’t buy the miles to redeem in coach unless you see a great deal but if you’re looking at premium cabins, it could work well.

It depends on what your destinations are and what economy tickets are for when you want to travel. Most of AA’s economy awards (for travel on AA or partner airlines) are 20k to 40k miles, one way, meaning you’d break even if paid flights are between $345 and $690, plus taxes and fees on the award. The goal with miles and points is to do better than break even so like @Gaurav says, using miles for premium cabins would be a better idea.
