Hey there everybody,

So I have a question regarding a travel credit my brother has with AA. Last October, my brother’s company (our family business) purchased a ticket with AA for travel in March of 2019. Due to more concerning issues in the office, my brother had to cancel his ticket with AA and they gave him the ticket number that now has about a $1100 credit on it. My brother has until October to complete travel with it, but really isn’t able to take time off of work and has no where to travel for work purposes.

Me being the aviation/mileage enthusiast in our family, I absolutely hate to see this credit just go to waste like this. Does anyone have any ideas or know of anything that would possibly allow this credit to be extended? Put in somebody else’s name? Donated? Etc.?

I’m pretty sure there is nothing that can be done here, but figured it’s worth a quick ask.

Thank you to anyone who contributes their two cents!

You could try calling in to see if you could book the ticket in his name and then have a name change processed, which would incur a fee but might be worth it. If you’re interested in donating.

AA does allow donations of miles to certain charities: https://www.aa.com/i18n/customer-service/about-us/let-good-take-flight/donate.jsp
I don’t see contact info on that page but there might be some if you click through to the charity you prefer. If you don’t see any there, I’d reach out to the Twitter team and see if they can get a contact for you.
