AA reduced FC awards

AA reduced FC awards

Do you know if AA has mostly done away with the Milesaver FC awards(other than redeye) ? In the past I have found these awards from Atlanta to most CA airports if you were willing to be flexible on the dates and would fly into other area airports( like ONT instead of LAX). You also might have to connect out of the way(say Charlotte) but in the end you wound up with a FC seat between 7AM and 5 PM for 25M miles.

I have looked at just about all dates from Oct 1 thru Dec and there literally no Milesaver FC seats for this routing save the redeye and then sometimes flying Alaska up to Seattle then down to CA. And when you look at the seating in FC on these flight many times there are none sold. The only way to get one is the Anytime AA award starting at 45M.

I’m sure AA woulldnt tell me either way.

I got so frustrated/mad I just decided to buy 2 tickets FC, but I bought them on Delta.I sure didnt want to give AA my business at that point.

Just need your thoughts before I complain to the AAdvantage people !

I think they’re just being stingy and put variable award pricing on the route, like Delta.

It does seem AA has pulled back dramatically on premium rewards. Maybe it’s because of the transition with department heads. Hopefully not a trend.
