AA – Extra Fees may apply for connections over four hours long
I was searching for flights to book using my miles and noticed something that I haven’t seen before on AA and was wondering if you had anyone had any insight on this. On certain flights it stated “extra fees may apply for connections over 4 hours.” Any idea how long this has been around? And how much these fees may be? I had not seen this the last time I booked a flight using miles which was just two weeks ago.
Thank you
I believe that the rule for the last few years has been that you cant have more than a 4 hour domestic connection and a 24 hour international connection. The “extra fees may apply” might just mean that they’ll price you for two awards instead of rejecting the route.
