AA changed my Australia flights euggghhh

AA changed my Australia flights euggghhh

Hi all! I had an award booked for my wife and two young children from ORD to VYR to Sydney (AA then Qantas) all in biz.

Unfort it looks like AA has cancelled its ORD to VYR direct flight and now they are re-routed through Dallas which makes for a really brutal days travelling.

Is there any chance I can get AA to open up space on the ORD to LAX to SYD flights (all on AA). I tried on the phone but the agent said unable. I wondered if its worth trying again?

Never hurts to check again but I’ve got award seats out of SFO and am having to settle for economy on one leg to get there (in fairness, I made the change fairly recently for a trip next month. Business was available awhile back.) AA’s original plan had me arriving barely 3 hours before my QF flight with no back-up plan should one of my connecting flights to SFO get delayed. I’ve decided from now on I’m booking my award travel from the gateway city and paying my way there so I can pick & choose what time I arrive and what backup plans I have.

Thanks mid south. From Chicago in winter makes it even more difficult connecting….

Obviously American has seats available in biz but not at a saver level. Any chance you think they would open those up? I’m platinum pro

I’m not counting on it. I’ve set alerts to see if business space opens up and I can get from MEM to DFW but the DFW-SFO leg I don’t see any business award space offered. My friend from Chicago who’s meeting me in SFO changed her ticket to the Alaska morning flight as that was the only one AA offered business space for. We’d been monitoring flights for her since January and they never opened up a single business seat ORD-SFO on a flight that would get her there in time to catch our flight out. I think AA’s just being super stingy.
