AA Business vs First on 777-300
Any recommendations on a good review showing the differences in AA long haul service on a 777-300 ER between business & first class? I have a couple system wide upgrades burning hole in my pocket – and need to spend a little more than I have currently booked to maintain my ex-plat status. Is it worth buying a business class ticket and use SWU to get into first? and thus satisfying my EQD? or using my money for a bonus trip elsewhere?
thank you
Bigger seat, slightly better food & drink, and some more amenities.

I don’t think the seat is any longer (though I am 5’9” so I doubt I would notice. It is definitely wider.
The food is, as David said, slightly better. The wine is definitely better, but still not as good as what I would pay for myself when buying….
I think the two most important things are to consider are:
1 – The service is pretty much the same. Really. Maybe slightly faster, but no less surly (if you wind up with a grouchy cabin crew).
2 – Row 2 is so much better than row 1. When reading on SeatGuru that people complained about FAs chatting and the light from the galley bothering them in row 1 I thought they were being a bit picky. I flew row 2 to HKG and loved it. I was assigned row 1 on the return when my SWU cleared, and I would really have regretted burning it was it not going to expire in less than a month. I actually thought about asking the FA if I could sleep in an empty biz class seat instead of row 1.
