AA booking changes – what are my options?

AA booking changes – what are my options?

Hi All, thanks in advance for any help or guidance you can provide – AA EXP here but won’t begin to pretend I know all the rules & know how!

I purchased a flight on AA from NY to SF 4 months ahead of my trip (this coming June). As I’ve come to expect there were small schedule changes that were made on the itinerary. I understand that if the changes between the original time I booked versus the new time of the flight was more than a couple of hours, I would be in the driver’s seat in terms of changing to a more prefer flight (in my case on the outbound i was able to move from a one-stop to a non-stop flight to SF). I’ve just realized that my return leg, by virtue of a new departure time of about 6 minutes later than the original time has also changed the date of my return (i.e. original 11.55pm 6/10, new time 12.01 6/11), would this “new departure date” scenario also allow me to make some changes similar to my outbound (end goal, switch to a non-stop flight)?

    Thanks again.
    J.

Technically no, but a friendly call to the ExecPlat line never hurts! If they say no, I’d try calling back and trying a different agent or two. You never know!
