Hi Pat –
Not sure how you are looking (or how many tickets you need), but if you arent already, you may need to search by segment. Example: search from your hub to DOH, then search DOH to MLE. Alternatively, search from another gateway for the last leg (say, CMB for example). Finally, you could buy one portion with miles and the other with cash.
I did a (very) brief search myself. I am showing mid-October there is business r/t available JFK-DOH. Found that on AA website. Then, using the BA search tool, I found Economy availability DOH-MLE, but not business, and not return.
