AA award change to another partner

AA award change to another partner

I’m flying on AA awards from ORD to Johannesburg SA and booked 1st class outbound but only able to book coach on the return. What is the best way to find business/first class on a partner airline for the return flight? The partners could be Qatar or Iberia…thanks

    Welcome @swkchicago –
The British Airways website is a good place to look for partner flights. Just be sure to look segment by segment (e.g. JNB-MAD, MAD-ORD) as they will naturally try to route everything via LHR.

If you don’t already have a BA FF number you’ll need to sign up for one as you have to log into the BA site to be able to see award availability.

Qatar opens a lot of space between JNB-DOH as well. I was successful in routing JNB-DOH-LHR-ORD with QR and AA. American is starting to release some award space. Got a LHR-ORD in May the other day. As @MidSouth Skier says, BA is your best bet finding the space and search in segments only then call to have it booked.
