Good morning! Due to a screwup with Chase that I won’t be fighting I have one month to transfer out 800k chase points. Any thoughts where to send? I guess I will send a lot to United and some to flying blue. I don’t have an Amex but I do have around 300k Citi points.

I have a lot of lifemiles that I use a lot.

maybe some to Virgin Atlantic?

I’m based in Chicago and use most of my points for premium cabins overseas.

Wherever you choose to transfer, be sure to first check the expiration policy. In some programs the miles expire after x-number of months, regardless of whether or not there is activity in the account.

Personally I would likely pick Hyatt, since this is a unique transfer to Chase and definitely one of the most valuable (unless you already earn tons of Hyatt points organically). Most other airline transfers are available through Amex/Citi, and United is pretty much useless these days especially if you use LifeMiles.

A second vote for Hyatt. They’ve already announced what the variable pricing will be once it goes into effect and it still leaves plenty of room for value. Besides, it’s just nice to know you’re going to have solid places to stay on your trips — and you will have several– and isn’t it simply fun to look forward to the tricked out bathrooms after a busy (sweaty?) day of sightseeing. Also, Hyatt has much better award availability than what most airlines offer. Best travels whatever you decide.
