145k points and credit card
hi there. i am an 18 year old college student and want to get my first credit card. i want a card with rewards and travel benefits like the chase sapphire reserve (which my parents already got). what is the best card i could qualify for?
also, after my parents got the 100k point sign up bonus from chase, my family wants to book roundtrip tickets to new zealand. is there any way we could get 5 roundtrip tickets to south island nz during christmas time, or even get 3 or 4 first class/business class roundtrip tickets for travel to south island nz during christmas of 2017>
thank you very much!
hi there. im currently an 18 yo college student and want to get my first credit card. which is the best card i would qualify for so that i could get to build my credit and also get great travel benefits/rewards?
also my parents got the chase sapphire reserve and now have 145k ultimate reward points. we want to travel to south island new zealand at christmas next year. is there a way we could get 6 roundtrip tickets from sfo to nz?..or better yet how many could we get in first/business class for same flight?
thank you very much!!
I’d recommend the Chase Freedom or Freedom Unlimited to start with. As an 18 year old with very little to no credit history, you have to start somewhere on the bottom, which means no annual fee basic cards.
Given that youre traveling during the holidays and the southern summer, awards will be extremely hard to come by, even for one traveler, much less 4 or 5. NZ did release awards recently though so you might want to see if that can work for you. Realistically, I think you need to consider splitting up your party and connecting via Asia. Furthermore, 145k points is not enough for 4-5 passengers. United charges 70k for business class from US to NZ on its own metal or 80k for Star Alliance partner airlines, per person in each direction.
