What happens if I get elite status after a booking but before I fly?

What happens if I get elite status after a booking but before I fly?

    Hi there,

It might be a very newbie kind of question, but I’m asking this because of the JetBlue Mosaic status match. I’m matching from Alaska, and they say it will take a couple of weeks to go through, but I want to book a Mint flight for September now since there’s only one seat left in the cheapest fare bucket for the flight I want.
So if I make my reservation now, without Mosaic status, and the status is granted before my flight, will I earn points and get benefits with Mosaic status when I fly?
And generally speaking, will it work the same on any airline?

    Thanks!
    Clem

    Hello Clem.

In general what status you have on a airline when flying is what counts, not when booking.

Don’t think I ever have heard of any airlines that don’t work that way.
