Transfering to another FFP assistance

Transfering to another FFP assistance

Hope this is the right place to post this.

I am Heathrow based, fly within Europe and to Asia on self-paid business class tickets. I have Platinum status with Flying Blue, 2018 will be first full year at Platinum and I already have gained enough XP this year for Platinum status for the next two years. My flying is spread across multiple SkyTeam airlines (AF, KL, VN, GA, KE etc.), but not heavily biased to AF/KL although they are both very handy for LHR-CDG/AMS and onward connections, and connections are handy for building extra XP/lower prices.

However, with the changes to Flying Blue I am now earning only a small percentage of the redeemable Miles that I used to earn before the program changed on 1st April. Is there a suitable FFP program that I can switch to that I will benefit from like I did with the old Flying Blue and gain top-tier status? I am not an expert in FFPs but it seems to me that one cannot transfer what they have (redeemable miles and FFP status) to the equivalent value/status in other FFPs and that I would have to start all over again. Although information is very often USA focused (FFPs of AA, DL, UA etc.) but my travel does not currently take me there.

The obvious option would be to sign up with BA instead but I cannot stand them (service, cabin, managements race to the bottom etc.) and do not want them to have my money unless 100% necessary for my travel requirements.

    Thanks for any advice.

You might be able to get a status match or challenge with another program, but miles never transfer between different airline programs. The other big European program is Lufthansa Group’s Miles & More – have you looked into that?
