Hey all!

I caught the MH 3X miles promo back in October, and was able to score oneworld Emerald from now until February 2021 through basically just one roundtrip ticket. I am now in a dilemma on [B]how I can maximize oneworld elite benefits while also not crediting to MH anymore[/B] (due to the massive devaluation).

My original plan was to have my MH number printed on my boarding pass to access benefits up until the gate, where I would ask to change the FFP (which can be done) to another programme if I would rather credit to someone else in those particular cases. This probably means I will be removed from priority for op-ups and other backend benefits, should there be any.

(This may seem like a lot of work, but two years worth of AY, BA, CX, JL, QF credited to AS adds up to good value that I wouldn’t want to lose by crediting to MH…)

So the questions become, [B]is there anyway for me to get the full range of benefits [I]and [/I]credit to another FFP? When are most OW op-ups offered? Can I retroactively negate the crediting to MH if I use the MH FFP for the trip, and apply to credit to another programme afterwards? Any more tips/general thoughts on this? [/B]

This question will probably apply to future deals where people score elite status on non-preferred airlines for the sake of status, and how to credit miles strategically thereafter. Hope the answers can be found helpful for future reference.
