    My Dad has Hilton Gold with a chance at small Diamond. As everyone probably already knows, HHonors has TERRIBLE redemption rates (30k per night for a very random Hampton Inn). He doesn’t want to go into the land of the unknown (a.k.a no status). Do Hyatt or SPG do status matches?

    Try emailing them, they may match. If not, try getting raw Hyatt credit card, that gets platinum status. Amex Platinum card also gives you SPG gold and Hilton gold

    The AmEx Plat will also give you Marriott Gold once you get SPG and sync your Marriott/SPG accounts.

    Keep in mind that neither SPG nor Hyatt provide equivalent benefits at the mid-tier to Hilton. If he wants breakfast, etc., he’d need to aim for Platinum / Diamond status.

    Marriott might be a good alternative, and the credit card status options make the most sense in general. The Amex Plat will give him Hilton Gold as well!
