i have a family of 4 on same record locator number with aa and i have flight from lax to sydney. i have put all four of us on the upgrade list using my system wide upgrades. its it better for me to split the reservation in two and two or have four diff ones to get a upgrade. will have a better chance if i split themup, do they still get the same staus as myself since my cerficates are coming from ex platinum account thanks

Hi @pgs, and welcome! With how you have it set up right now, they all get your upgrade priority as an EXP, which they only keep if you’re on the record.

I would probably set alerts in ExpertFlyer, and if two seats open up that are immediately confirmable, split the record and confirm two people who aren’t you. That way you and a companion stay on the waitlist, but with EXP priority.

This can be a little confusing, but does that make sense?

If you’re setting alerts in ExpertFlyer, you need “C” space for upgrades.
