Just wondering with the Marriott/SPG merger offering instant status match, if I were to do a platinum status challenge with Marriott, would it be matched by Starwood?

It seems like whatever status you earn with one of the programs will be automatically synced to the others. So everyone who has SPG status through the Platinum card is now gold with Marriott. I would assume they would do the same for a challenge earned status.
