LATAM Status Match

LATAM Status Match

My beloved AA Platinum status expires at the end of this month, and I’ve only requalified for Gold.

Desperately looking for a way to hold onto One World Sapphire at least through the end of 2017, and a LATAM status match appears to be my only hope. What do you think my chances of a match are if…
1) I just registered for LATAM Pass today
– and –
2) Have not taken a LATAM flight within the past year, but am willing to gamble on a $22 BOG-MDE flight purchase so at least I have a record locator to show them

Has anyone else scored a LATAM match from AA (or Alaska MVP Gold)? Status Matcher suggests it’s totally hit-or-miss (or LATAM doesnt respond at all). Is there another OW partner I should target for a match?

Have you checked statusmatcher.com? Here is the last reported record of someone trying American to LATAM from October, which was successful. But they do reference boarding passes as evidence.

Good luck!

Yup, I did see those reports on Status Matcher. I guess for a $22 investment in a flight I’m never going to take, I might as well try it!

I don’t think anyone would argue that One World Sapphire is worth less than $22!
