Is it worth $850 mileage run to get to Executive Platinum

Is it worth $850 mileage run to get to Executive Platinum

I got the fast track offer that is expiring September 7th. I had one business class flight that took me to Platinum status. I booked a couple short flights to hit Platinum Pro, but now I’m wondering if I should just go for the Executive Platinum. I’d never be able to earn it normal with the EQD requirements, but this fast track offer was 35000 EQM and $4000 EQD. I like the idea of being upgraded on an award flight though it may not happen.

    What do you think?

Do you get the normal system wide upgrade certificates when doing fast track? If so, then yes. I would say $850 is absolutely worth it.

I would also look at your travel plans over the next year or so. Do you have enough plans to fly American to reap the benefits of high status?

    I second the reply.

If you get eVIPs with the challenge, do it. Even with AA taking more of those away from EP, it’s still worth it in the long run if you’re an international traveler.
