Finnair plus or AAdvantage

Finnair plus or AAdvantage

  1. Anonymous Guest

    Hello,

I do not seem to get how these miles add up. I live in Estonia and travel mainly on Finnair. I found these wierd 4 segment American Airlines flights to Manaus, Brazil and after a 40 hour journey I found myself with almost 18000 miles. However, I do not understand how to book a Finnair flight using AAdvantage miles. They always show flights connecting via the US rather than directly from Helsinki to Sydney (layover in Singapore)For the last 3 years I have been attempting to book a return to Sydney, Australia on a budget and I was hoping I could make some use of my status. There’s only 4 segments left to fly on American before i reach elite status.please help me sort out i have been dreaming of a cheap flight to sydney, australia. Thank you, Ted

Ted, AA can only book award seats that Finnair releases to partners. I’m not familiar with the Finnair program so I am not sure if they don’t release any award seats on that route or if they are just not available to partners. If you have searched for three years and are not able to find flights via SIN but are getting flights to Sydney via the US, I’d suggest taking advantage of them even if they may be a little more inconvenient…
