Thank you for the information and data you have compile. I am learning as I go but find it complicated [at times] to fully grasp the final concept, especially when your own frequent flyer miles company don’t have competent staff to clarify or answer the questions/concerns..

So, I end here begging for some clarification and guidance. Sorry for the drama!!

Well, I am a Delta Silver Medallion… This is my first full year really booking in Delta and trying to maximizing my American Express Platinum Skylines CC.

    I have accumulated 31,533 MQMs and I am expecting $10,000 MQMs from Amex by November 18th ~, [$50K total expense/charges in 2016]

I have trip in a couple of weeks to DFW [From LGA], that will earn me around 2,600 +/- MQMs

    As of 11/1/2016 I have 31,533 MQMs
as of 11/18/2016 Amex Co Brand MQMs 10,000
    Upcoming Trip 2,600 ~
    Total MQMs by 11/20/2016 44,133 ~

I decided to hold off in flying Delta for the rest of the year as I don’t want to reach Gold Medallion [50,000 MQMs] which I could potentially do before December 31st as I have a couple of trips pending NY – MIA & NY LAX.

Why I am thinking this? I don’t want to lose GM if the clock resent with Delta 1/31 [I don’t have trips in January]. I rather rollover 19,133 miles [from above] and utilize it in my next year calendar.
This means, I will not fly delta until 2/1/2017..
This is my understanding.. and as much as I read and I ask Delta CS, I get no explanation.

    Reasoning to my decision –
1- Delta Program runs off 1/31/2017.. Clock resents
    a. From my 44,133 miles I lose 25,000 [because of my SM status] the left over are transfer to next calendar year.
2- Someone else told me, since I earned SM this year, I will keep the status to 2017 but I will need to have adequate MQSs + MQDs in order to keep the status.
as of today 18 MQSs, $3350 MQDs – Still confuses me the rollover and what will transfer or not

In my continues efforts to gain traction and take advantage of every opportunity presented, I am also planning to upgrade my Platinum Amex to Amex Reserve. – still considering it as I don’t really see much of the benefit.

Well, it is a lot more I would like to ask but I don’t want to overstay my need but I want to walk before running [miles run]

Thank you for the time and guidance..

    Warm Regards,
    Vladimir
