Crediting Avianca Business Class (A) to Aegean

Crediting Avianca Business Class (A) to Aegean

  1. Anonymous Guest

Our family of 3 flew on a paid one-way Avianca business from SCL-BOG-BOS in January and absentmindedly credited it to Aegean Miles+Bonus. Unfortunately, it seems that Aegean still uses an outdated schema for booking classes on Avianca.

Upon a quick search, it appears that other Star Alliance carriers made updates to reflect changes that Avianca made to its booking codes back on February 1, 2018

    (e.g., Turkish:

    …and United, which has a “before 2/1/2018” v. “after”:

I’ve gone back and forth with Aegean’s customer relations department but had no success in convincing them to review whether their mileage earning table might be outdated. They insist that it’s just they have negotiated a different set of mileage credits with Avianca. Any suggestions on how we might get their attention, particularly since this turns out to be the difference between moving us all up a status level v. not?

Many thanks in advance for any advice or help!

Hi Tim–I wouldn’t hold out any hope of getting Aegean to change its award chart unfortunately. The charts are what they are and airlines are not likely to adjust them for individual consumers. In some ways this is also what creates sweet spots that we can use to our advantage.
