Alaska Elite Qualification

Alaska Elite Qualification

HI, I flew two roundtrips between NYC and HKG on CX, which totals 32,000 miles. How come they said I didn’t qualify for MVP status, as they said it was only 8,000 miles? I understand I get just 25% reward for miles flown = 8,000, but I thought for status sake it counts as 32,000 qualifying miles?

Base miles earned and class of service bonus is what Alaska uses for elite qualification, not just distance flown. Otherwise it’d be super easy to earn status.
