AA Executive Platinum questions
Hi. I have a question on what the value of EXP is really worth? The new AA boarding process is super nice with EXP at Group 2 (although Platinum is 2 mins away at Group 3). I have found this to be much better than 1 month ago. But, I just booked a flight to Cancun and at end of purchasing online…. to upgrade to First was only $89 r/t. What is the benefit of having EXP with comp upgrades if the airline is giving away seats at $45 per seat? When onboard, the FAs do not know who is EXP for some comp food and drink…. there is no appreciation for being EXP….. might as well just be basic Platinum and let the dices roll?
Getting back to my question: just what is the new value of being EXP? anyone? otherwise Platinum its the simple way to go. No need to pursue anything higher?
The value of AA EXP depends on different things for each traveler but here’s what The Points Guy considers the value to be. https://thepointsguy.com/2017/01/what-is-aa-elite-status-worth-2017/
You could use that as a method of coming up with your own valuation of AA EXP
