AA complimentary upgrade domestic baggage allowance

AA complimentary upgrade domestic baggage allowance

  1. Anonymous Guest

Hello, I’m an AAdvantage platinum and get 500 mile complimentary upgrades on flights. I can take 2 50 pound bags while traveling at no cost. My question was that if i get upgraded to domestic first, on a <500 mile flight, would i be eligible for 3 70 pound bags?
    Thank you

    Per the AA website:
1st, 2nd and 3rd checked bags are complimentary for:

Confirmed First and Business Class customers

AAdvantage Executive Platinum

oneworld Emerald

Alaska Airlines MVP Gold 75K

Active U.S. military and/or dependents with ID traveling on orders (1st – 5th bags free of charge)

Active U.S. military with ID on personal travel
So I’d guess that if your upgrade clears prior to the airport then yes, you could take a 3rd 70 lb bag.
