Suggestions for a big Anniversary Destination

Suggestions for a big Anniversary Destination

My parents are celebrating their 30th anniversary in May and they are looking for a week trip to celebrate the occasion. I’m having some trouble thinking of suggestions for them so I’m turning to you guys!

My mother: She wants something relaxing and a destination where she can take/share photos. She’s not super adventurous when it comes to food and isn’t particularly interested in culture but will try new things. She is ok being active and in nature but dislikes undeveloped places (rural or urban) that are “dirty”.

My father: He just needs activities (sitting on a beach all day or next to the pool would bore the hell out of him). He loves seeing and experiencing new things, as well as trying foods and indulging in culture. Otherwise he is pretty flexible.

They both went on a euro trip earlier this year and explored a few cities so I’m not really looking for a city for them to explore per se. I think ideally I’m looking for a destination resort with activities on site or hikes/water activities nearby (thought of Miraval for example). They have points (amex, chase,AA) so something bookable on points is preferred but definitely not required! If booking on cash, absolute limit is $400-500/night but obviously less is better. They are based on the east coast of the US and don’t have that much time so would prefer not to spend too much time in transit. Any good ideas for a destination?

International or domestic? Or it doesnt matter?

Doesn’t matter! As long as it doesn’t take days to get to the destination!

This is a pretty wide open question. Off the top, I’d say one of the many great Hawaiian Resorts, many of which can be reserved with points. Several of my older relatives have celebrated special anniversaries there.
