Stopover Ideas

Stopover Ideas

    Hey Guys,

I’m booking a round-trip itinerary for my parents from IAH-DEL in the upcoming months.
I’ll be using URs transferred to United Mileage Plan.

What are some cities that would make a fun stopover for them on the way back?

    Thanks!

I’d go with Tokyo – it’ll be non stop from DEL-TYO and TYO-IAH. Frankfurt is another option on LH since they serve both DEL and IAH.

Other cities will require a stop but could be worth it – Seoul, Tokyo, Bangkok, Munich, Zurich. Depending on the length of the stopover, you can go to a couple of other places via train or a separately booked flight.

I don’t think they’re that adventurous to do too many cities in 1 trip.
And would all of those cities count in the same round-trip award?

It should. I was able to see Swiss EWR-ZRH-NRT price at the US-Japan award level so it should be fine, as long as there is space. UA is changing some rules for awards booked Oct 6th and after and the third region transit might be going away so I.d book your awards now

I was hoping for the Sapphire Reserve bonus to hit before booking but still hasn’t come in so waiting to book. I’m worried the Oct 6th changes will leave my only stopover option to be the Maldives
