New York to Beirut: best way to use points on premium cabin?
Hi there,
I live in NYC and am planning a trip to Beirut, maybe around Thanksgiving, or maybe next year. I’m looking to get there in business or first, by either using points or better yet, buying coach and upgrade with points. Do you guys know what the best options might be? I have a healthy amount of Ultimate Rewards and Membership rewards points available. Thanks!
The best routing at this point, is probably going to be the one with space available! Unfortunately, award space around Thanksgiving is extremely popular, and has also been on the calendar for many months now, so potentially already taken by another customer.
Personally, I would look at options flying on one of the Middle Eastern airlines (Etihad, Emirates, Qatar). Those will all maximize your time in a very nice premium cabin. Unfortunately connecting through Europe you’ll probably find yourself in a regular economy-type seat on many of those airlines.
Turkish would be a strong option!
Thank you guys!
@rickyw one of the European options is Air France actually, they fly their retrofitted 777 to Beirut. But I flew them so many times I’d like to try something new so maybe Qatar could be nice. I’ll have to look at mileage requirements between Etihad and Qatar (I did Emirates once and not a fan).
@Tiffany I was seeing that option but isn’t their business class 2-3-2? And would you know which FF program has the lowest mileage requirements to fly them ?
