Etihad Schedule Change on AAdvantage Ticket

Etihad Schedule Change on AAdvantage Ticket

  1. Nayak New Member

    Hi,

I had an AAdvantage award ticket booked in F on Etihad (EY 103) from AUH to JFK for October 17. I was scheduled to depart at 2.50 am and arrive into JFK at 9.10 am. But I see now that flight EY 103 is no longer operating after September and I have been automatically rebooked on flight EY 101 departing AUH at 9.55 am and arriving into JFK at 4.10 pm on October 17. I would have preferred to reach NY before noon. I called AA and asked if I can be moved to the previous day’s flight (EY 101 on October 16), but there was no Guest First seat available and they couldn’t help me out. I called Etihad and they said since it is an AA-issued ticket all change requests have to come from AA. I would ideally prefer to be rebooked on flight EY 101 a day earlier on October 16. Do I have any recourse? Should I call AA and/or Etihad and ask to speak to a supervisor? My last resort would be to look at one-stop options through Europe or other Etihad US destinations.

Any helpful advice will be greatly appreciated.
    Thank You!

Well if there’s no Guest First seats available the previous day, you could always request to be downgraded

I did look into that option. AA told me they will charge $150 to change to Business, which I prefer not to pay (unless it is a last resort).

Call AA again — there’s a desk that deals with these things. It may take a few (kind!) calls to get your trip referred to the liaison office, but that’s who you need to have working on this. They’re the ones that can request space from Etihad.

Thanks a lot! I will call AA again and see what happens.
