Etihad Business Class Lounge in AUH
Hi,
does anyone know if you are eligable to visit the Etihad Business Class Lounge on a EY business class flight from Singapur to Dubai based on miles?
Also, is it true that Etihad has no Lounge in Dubai?
Cheers,

It doesn’t matter if your ticket was purchased with miles or cash; you get the same lounge benefits ๐
That being said, I assume your flight is only to Abu Dhabi if you’re flying Etihad? In that case you could use the arrivals lounge, and then book the chauffeur service up to Dubai. Etihad doesn’t operate commercial flights between the two cities, as far as I know.

Thank you for your answer. I dind’t know that. The flight I could book goes to XNB.
As it seems I can’t use the Lounge on the way to Dubai, my choices are Qatar Airways Business Class Lounge in LHR or Etihad Business Class Lounge in AUH. Both on the way to BKK.
The combination oft flights are either
– LHR to BKK with Qatar Airways BC and Stop in Doha and on the way back SIN to AUH in Etihad Business Class or
– Dubai/AUH to SIN in BC and on the way back QR BC BKK to LHR/FRA with Stop in Doha.
Which one would you choose if you had to?
@Thenewonw I believe XNB is the code used by EY when they are booking you on the coach from AUH to DXB as part of the trip. I’m not quite sure how quickly the shuttle leaves and how much time you’d have to try the arrivals lounge at the airport.
The second part of your question is a little confusing to me. Is a lounge on arrival a make or break issue for you? I simply ask because while access is nice, most people simply head to their destination. You would still get to use the lounge when you check in for the outbound portions of your trip. Also you seem to be comparing a LHR-BKK-SIN-AUH trip to a AUH/DXN-SIN-BKK-LHR/FRA. What routing are you actually planning to fly?

Hey Gaurav,
Sorry for the confusion. I try to make it more clear ๐ I am not sure if I succeed.
The main decison I have to make is do I want to visit the Etihad Business Class Lounge in AUH or the Qatar Airways Lounge in LHR?
1)
If I go for the QR Lounge, the trip would be LHR – DOH – BKK – SIN – AUH – XNB – DXB – CGN.
This was my favourite route, as I thought I could visit both lounges. But I think “flying” to XNB doesn’t enable me to visit the Etihad BC Lounge.
2)
If I go for the Etihad Lounge the trip could be CGN – DXB – Chauffeur to AUH – SIN – BKK – DOH – FRA/LHR
This way I could visit the BC Lounge in AUH.
In both options the flight AUH-SIN / SIN-AUH would be Etihad C while LHR – BKK / BKK – LHR qould be in Qatar Airways C.
Why is CGN in the Route? The miles I can redeem only last for 1 1/2 flights from europe to asia (or vice versa). CGN to DXb in Eurowings is the cheapest one way flight from Germany to Dubai.
Cheers

So if visiting the lounges is of primary importance, then it seems like the second option is a clear winner. Assuming that you have at least a little bit of a layover, you will be able to visit the QR lounge in DOH and try the EY lounge. Have fun!

Thank you again. I thought too that the lounge at the home base of an Airline (EY at AUH) probably is better than a lounge at a different Airport (QR at LHR).
So if I book the flight AUH-SIN in EY business class, I can book the chauffeur service and they will take me from my Hotel in Dubai to AUH?

That should work.
