Best first class airline from Europe to Australia

Best first class airline from Europe to Australia

1. Anonymous Guest

Hello,

Which airline would you recommend to fly to Europe (UK/Germany) to Australia?

Flight would be in first class and preferably with as little stops as possible.

Etihad, Emirates or Singapore are great options, as long as you’re able to fly on the A380. Etihad’s B789 is also pretty decent and serves select destinations in Europe and Australia.

Emirates is probably easiest to find a one-stop itinerary, since they serve the most destinations with an A380 out of the airlines I listed.

Hello Eternal

London have the most choices for these routes.

There is Qantas connecting in DXB, also there is Thai with a connection in BKK. Finishing dead last on this route is BA with a connection in SIN.

Honorable mention also goes to Cathay and Garuda with great F products to Asia, and good J from there.

Korean has a great/good F product to their hub in ICN, but fall flat due to the A330 with F in 2-2-2 used to AUS.

Also there is JAL I think, but that would involve changing airport in Tokyo.

Would help if you could tell us which city in AUS you are trying to get to?

Hi Eternal,

There are quite a few great F products to AUS from LHR. If you really want a over the top experience, I would choose SQ or EK. These airlines both have over the top service and if you can get on the A380, both airlines offer Suites in F. Another great option is Qantas. They are classy but understated . The food is great and the service is very genuine. While the seats are not the most innovative, they still are spacious and comfortable. Finally, I would also recommend CX. While their FC hard product isnt cutting edge, the service is among the best. The food also has a generally good reputation. CX also has an amazing F ground experience in HK with the “pier” and the “wing”. These offer a champagne bar as well as great dining options. If I had to rank them I would do the following:

1) EK F (A380)
2) SQ F (A380)
3) Qantas F
4) CX F

Hope this helps!

Have to correct you a bit here @Jordan Parker.

First of all Cathay does not as I mentioned above offer F service HGK-AUS, only J.

Secondly they have great lounges in HKG yes, but lounges are only part of the ground experience. Compared to AF in CDG or LH in FRA (sometimes) they fall flat. Even Thai is better in some regard with their buggies, with Cathay your are humping true the terminal with the rest of the passengers on foot.

And Cathay J catering which is what you would get HKG-AUS is a bit meh to put it plainly.

But flying from LHR to HKG you can have CX F then from HKG to LHR you can get QF First. The point about ground experience doesnt really apply since they wont be departing from FRA or CDG. Additionally I would choose any Middle Easters carrier over AF and LH but thats just my opinion. Either way, CX has a solid ground product in HK.

Did you bother to even read the question by Eternal?

“Which airline would you recommend to fly to Europe (UK/Germany) to Australia?”

Last I checked FRA is in Germany? Seem to remember LH cooperates with SQ on flight to AUS with a connection in SIN.

But flying from LHR to HKG you can have CX F then from HKG to LHR you can get QF First.

CX/QF would be a very good combo yes, too bad that QF don’t fly a F product to HKG at ALL and I don’t think QF even have a flight HKG-LON these days? Flights by A330 with J as highest class and stops in HKG seems to be it. Or that there is NO direct F service HKG-AUS by any airline?

You said CX had an amazing F ground experience, not a solid ground product. Solid I can agree with you on, even if the F lounges might be amazing

My bad. Got confused a little bit there seeing as LHR has the most options. You are right but best to present all options. I personally really love CX ground product between the dining options as well as the FC Cabanas in the lounge. Overall very classy. All personal opinion I guess though. Occasionally QF will send a 744 to HKG with FC product installed but its hit or miss. Its all based on how much he wants to spend. None the less, all options are great options and will deliver a great experience no matter what!

I still think Etihad or Emirates is the way to go, if you can get on their A380s. Or Etihad’s B789.
