oesterleyy New MemberMy annual Plat (personal) membership fee is due in two weeks but I have reserved a staycation through the Amex Travel Portal and selected a Fine Hotel Collection for New Year’s Day. Amex has billed me for the stay. What will happen if I cancel my Plat before my stay? Will I still enjoy my benefits promised or not?

Usually Amex will prorate or refund your annual fee if you cancel shortly after paying it. I’m not sure what would happen if you cancel before your actual hotel stay… but knowing that Amex is pretty flexible and the FHR benefits are usually significant, I’d pay your annual fee.
