Will we make Business class…?

Will we make Business class…?

Booked Den -LHR thru IAD (May 9th) travel for my husband(he is United gold with more than a million miles on UA) and myself (also gold), with return EDI-Den thru ORD. We are waitlisted for business class using miles and money. We cleared the waitlist for the Edinburgh-Chicago return almost immediately and continue to be waitlisted on the other three flights. Honestly, what are our chances of being upgraded on these flights. We are still 53 days out?

@Kathy Woodward honestly there is no way to gauge that accurately although anecdotally UA upgrades have been hard to get. Have you looked at the seat plans for the flights? How full the cabins are might be your best indicator of your chances.

    Hi @Kathy Woodward, and welcome!

You can use Expert Mode on United to see how many seats are left available for sale, but if you’re only Gold, it’s going to be a tough upgrade, realistically.

It looks like there are 9 seats left for sale in Business out of a total of 33 open seats.

Yeah, at six weeks out it could easily go either way. We will cross our fingers for you though!
