Will AA require more miles to award ticket changes after deadline?

Will AA require more miles to award ticket changes after deadline?

    Hi Guys,

Sorry for the newbie question and I apologize if this has been addressed before but I did not find it.
I booked 2 award tickets in F (I think) on American 2 weeks ago when they had a lot of availability to Asia thanks for this blog. The route in MIA-DFW-HKG-BKK and back. HGK-BKK is on Royal Jordanian 787 business class and the rest of it is on American including DFW to HKG and back. If I find availability on the days before the flight on Cathay would I be able to change it without incurring a fee and more importantly without requiring additional miles since it will be past the March devaluation deadline?

    Thank you for your reply.

No one knows yet precisely how the changes will be implemented but I think the current thinking is that if your award is AA+partner and stays that way you should be fine. Good luck.
