I have a potential May trip into BCN and out of LIS or MAD. I’m trying to decide how to direct my spending for the next 3-4mos to be able to obtain FC or BC tickets RT. I can depart BHM, ATL, IAH DFW, DAL easily, and almost any Southwest hub. United Gold is my only premier level. Any thoughts about which card to spend to make that happen? I can easily sign up for additional sapphire card for bonus, and united explorer. lots of travel expenses over the next 4 months for work, so trying to maximize.

Current reward breakdown:
amex Gold: 200k
SPG: 50k
Sapphire: 20k

Is this a work trip that you’re trying to upgrade with points from coach or just a trip that you’d like to book a straight award seat? Any reason why you wouldn’t book now and are going to wait for another 3-4 months?

I’d like to book 2 straight reward seats in first or business class. I wasn’t sure that I had enough reward points to make that happen.

[USER=1112]@YazooP[/USER] Aeroplan charges 90k RT to Europe in business and they are a MR transfer partner so you already have the points… Not sure what availability looks like and how it is affected by the upcoming devalution but I would check before the December 15 cutover.

Consider signing up for the Alaska personal plus biz cards, 50K points together after first spend.

Then transfer over 50K from SPG to Alaska and you have Emirates F oneway to or from Europe with a stopover in DXB if you want it..
