What happens to award seat if route is canceled?

Hopefully this doesn’t become to common place (but I have a feeling it might), what happens if for example you book an award ticket with Avianca LifeMiles for a flight on Turkish and months later Turkish discontinues their flight? Does either LifeMiles or Turkish re-book you on a partner?
Thanks in advance!

Welcome Zigglefuss – in 99.8% of the cases you will have to rebook yourself. If you can (if you can find other award seats). If Turkish cancels the flight you will get your miles back – you may have to call LifeMiles, but you’ll get them back. You may just have to be proactive.
