virgin australia
tiffany i read on another blog that delta/virgin australia have limited their nonstops to australia. we want to do fiji and australia in june july or august for the 80k/miles each segment. i know you can go through china but that adds 10 hours or so. what do you suggest?
@larry b — They haven’t limited their flights, it’s that Virgin Australia is pulling back award space, possibly in advance of releasing their new business class cabin.
Routing via Asia (doesn’t have to be China) is realistically going to be your best bet unless you want to pay many more miles.
I’ve been wondering what has happened to all the award space that VA are known for. Seems to have dried up for the moment. Having said that, there’s something NQR with VA and Delta and their award space availability. I can find 4 seats for May 2016 with VA business from BNE-LAX but only 2 seats for the same flight show up on Delta.
@kim adams It is not unusual for an airline to release more space for its own members than partner redemptions.
