Two AA tickets booked together, one ticketed < 12 hours and the other has not ticketed 72 hours?

Two AA tickets booked together, one ticketed

    Hi Lucky,

Three days ago I booked my wife and myself tickets to the Maldives on Etihad with AA miles. I asked them to take the miles for the awards out of our respective accounts so they split the tickets into two separate bookings. Mine ticketed about 12 hours after I booked, but my wife’s has still not ticketed and is coming up as “on request” a full 72 hours later.

I called American and they confirmed that my wife’s booking is not yet ticketed, and gave no explanation as to why, but said that “it will probably be ticketed soon”. I think it’s pretty strange that I booked two tickets together and one ticketed within 12 hours and the other one has not been ticketed over 72 hours later. Should I be concerned?

@ Matt — That is indeed a while. I wouldn’t be worried, but I’d recommend calling back and hopefully getting a competent agent that can make sure everything looks correct in the record.
