How easy is to transfer sapphire points to Avios then to Cathay. Did I read it correctly on their site that they want $50 to join their ff program ???Seriously!

Not easy, as you typically can’t transfer miles between airlines. Where are you looking at using miles that you’d want to move them to Cathay?

I’m going to TNA in November and was going through YVR as the Bus class fare is much cheaper than in the U.S. was wanting to upgrade to First. Just got your Sapphire card and noticed that Both British and Cathay belonged to the same alliance thought I could transfer the Sapphire to Avios then transfer to upgrade on Cathay. Also did I read it right that Cathay charges $50 to belong to their FF program…
