Transcon Award??

Transcon Award??

  1. Anonymous Guest

    Hello,
I have found out on rather short notice that I need to get into NYC next week. Economy fares look somewhat decent, but I was hoping to use points, if possible. I’m based in LA, so LAX, BUR, LGB, etc for departure all work.
I have 120K Citi Points, and 50K Amex Points.
    Thoughts?

    Thank you so much!!
    Matthew

I like using Virgin Atlantic miles on Virgin America for last-minute awards like this (provided you need a round trip). If you call them they can put the ticket on hold for you.

Do you get a 1:1 points ratio when using Virgin Atlantic miles on th Virgin America? For example, if a ticket on Virgin America is 8,000 elevate points, can I purchase it with 8,000 flying club miles?

    Thanks.

No, you’d need to look at Virgin Atlantic’s partner award chart:

Looks like it’s 25K each way in economy for NY-LA
