Stuck with 200,000 DL miles – need AA/BA
I have accrued 200,000 DL miles over 2 years of flying and having DL AMEX. I am moving to BA/AA and now have the BA Visa Signature card. Is there a reasonable way to cash out my DL miles? I would prefer not to fly with them again…is there any way around this? (I also have the Chase Sapphire which is a great card…does it give me any options)
I am new to this forum, so please forgive my ignorance. Any help is much appreciated.
@Nadroj You could use them to fly partners… cash them out for gift cards… use them for experiences… Anything listed on this page: http://www.delta.com/content/www/en_US/skymiles/use-miles.html. The maximum value is likely to be on flights though.
The CSP is a great card and I’d use that over the BA card. AFAIK the BA doesn’t offer any significant flight benefits for other than the companion ticket for spending 30k which can be hard to use. After getting the sign up bonus I’d spend on the CSP as those points offer flexibility and the ability to transfer to Avios on a 1:1 basis.

Thanks for the answer. I assume there are no good ways to “trade” miles with someone who may have AA/BA miles looking for DL miles???
Also, considering my choice of AA/BA and partners, are there any other rewards cards which I should consider strongly? I rarely have a need for hotels or anything of that nature, so mainly just looking at mileage perks here.
Thanks in advance

The only legal way to “trade” miles is points.com

Can one of you help out here please? Will be a bit short on time for the next week or so and is not able to help.
I have many BA Avios and am looking for DL miles, not sure how we could make tha thappen though..
Just a friendly note, it is against the terms of all the programs to trade, barter, or sell, miles, upgrade instruments, elite perks, etc.
@Nadroj — is there a reason you don’t want to redeem on partners like @Gaurav suggested? Those are hands-down the best uses of SkyMiles!

@Senzer I hope you are not looking for more DL miles to make the balance for the ridiculous rate DL is trying to ask for the ATL-JNB flight. The cost to accumulate that many SkyMiles might easily get you a paid ticket.

I will consider the use of my miles to redeem with partners.

If you can come up with a cheap and easy way to make a fair trade, I would be fine with that. But based on my reading, I have not found a good way to trade…
Check if you could convert Delta points into IHG points. Ihg offers point breaks hotels which are 5000 points each and an excellent value for money.
I’d also go for BA status and not the AA.
