Strategy for 5 tickets to Europe
Goal: Get 5 airline tickets to Europe for family from West Coast USA (France for sure, Ireland and Greece) and pay for hotels with points for the trip.
I travel for work. Domestic and international. I have membership programs for many Hotels and Airlines as my work is pretty random on the hotels used and airline availability. Unfortunately, this spreads out the reward points.
I have upcoming flights to Europe for work but not sure which airlines to focus on so I group the points/miles together.
Which hotel chains and airlines should I focus on so I can reach my goal?
Thanks
Are you hoping for business class or economy class to get your family to Europe? If business, your chances of finding 5 seats together on the same flight are unfortunately pretty slim. If economy, you’d have a better chance.
Where is your biggest stash of miles currently?
I have a family of five and close in I often see good availability from chicago ORD (where I live) to Europe on Swiss in business class.
yeah 5 is doable with Swiss from East cost (YUL,BOS,ORD) if you book in advance. But west coat will be harder. I see 5 seats on the ZRH-SFO on the 5th of March 2019 for example… LH has more availability but the fuel surcharge for 5 would be a huge chunk of change (4-5k or something like that)
