SQ Waitlisting clarification
I have three parts to this question. Thank you in advance!
1. When you want to waitlist and award, do you have to confirm something as well? Or can you just have a completely waitlisted award itinerary?
2. Say I want to fly on Apr 10 SFO-HKG-SIN in F, but only J is available and F is waitlist only. If I only have 91,375 miles in my account, can I book the J and if/when the F waitlist clears I can just “upgrade” the ticket for free? Or do I need to book the J ticket @ 68,000 miles and have another 91,375 miles to waitlist for the F since they need to be two separate tickets since they’re on the same flight? Or do I book at 68,000 miles, then when the waitlist clears pay the change fee and the 23,375 mile difference? Or do I have to completely cancel the ticket, pay the redeposit fee, and rebook a new ticket?
3. Say I want to fly on Apr 10 SFO-ICN-SIN-SYD, but only Apr 13 is available for that specific routing. I waitlist for the 3 flights on Apr 10. Can I confirm the Apr 10 itinerary if and only if all 3 segments clear the waitlist?

Let me know if that helps, otherwise we can dig in a bit more 🙂
I have read it, but the post either didn’t address my question or it wasn’t clear what the answer would be.
