Should I buy AA Miles with the 100k Bonus?

Should I buy AA Miles with the 100k Bonus?

Today is the last day for the AA mile purchase where if you buy 150k, you’ll get a 100k bonus. This will cost a total of $4786.88 with a per mile cost of .01914. Is this a good deal historically, or should I wait for something better? I do want to a big redemption, but not until mid 2017. Thanks

The best offer I recall and one that I purchased was 150k+115k bonus. However, do you have a plan for these miles? It’s a large sum of money and the award rates went up a few months ago. If you have travel in mind and can make use of the miles so that you get more value out of them than what you paid for it, it’s worth it.
