Search Star Alliance Award Travel to AUS
What is the best method for searching for Star Alliance award travel
from the West Coast of the US to Australia?
Thanks for the help,
Joan
Schellville, CA USA
United’s site is pretty good though it doesn’t show all *A airlines.
Found this post of Gary’s that recommends the Copa Airlines site: http://viewfromthewing.boardingarea.com/2016/05/06/new-star-alliance-award-search-tool/
You can also check ANA or Aeroplan. Use wikipedia pages for airports and go segment by segment.

Yeah…I’m not understanding…
I’m searching on the ANA website under
“Award Booking” then “Award Reservation.”
I’m being presented with an itinerary that says “Seats Available.”
But UA isn’t seeing those seats available as award seats.
Does anyone have insight?
Thanks for the help,
Joan
After United’s changes it may or not present space that you see on other carrier search engines. If you only have the option to use UA miles then you’re probably limited to what united.com shows you. If you have transferable currencies you could try to book through another star alliance program (ANA, Aeroplan, Turkish etc).
Could also be ghost space in which case you might check it against aeroplan or call in to see if an agent can book it.
