Hi,

I’m trying to find the best way to use 85K AA miles to book from CPH to Auckland. I know they don’t load Qatar and Etihad into the AA booking portal online, but when I do the search for May 1st, I see the first option as QF 10, the new flight from LHR to PER. This could be a fun option, flying Qantas on the new 789 (I’ve already flown Qatar business a few times, and I doubt the 777-LR will be reconfigured by then).

Now, here is where I’m confused. When I search for Business class, and see the 85K miles, it’s showing QF10 as class code: Economy…. Is this a mistake? There is no way I’m flying 9,000 miles in economy, especially with other connections o.O

Per the AA partner award chart that should be 85K for business class. Does BA show availability on that segment for your date? I’m just wondering if it’s phantom space. If it’s not phantom space then maybe call AA to find out what’s going on.
