    Hi Lucky –

Looking into booking a one-way from AUH/DOH to SIN using AA miles on Qatar and noticed that they only have the option of economy and first – no business. Does that mean I have to use 45K for first class one-way?

    Thanks!

Are you looking from AUH or DOH?

There is no J inside the ME on the ME3 and J seats are sold as F which might just give you the options of Y and F from AUH when booking with miles.

Have heard that might be possible to get a AA agent to get you a J price award since the AUH-DOH flight is 2 class and not 3 class.

Have you tried doing a paid booking on the QR website or a OTA to see what classes are offered for sale on you travel dates and route?

Checked a OTA for a flight AUH-DOH-SIN in paid J and the AUH-DOH comes up in F while DOH-SIN is J

    Thank you so much!

Either AUH or DOH as I’m looking to book on Qatar. In that case I assume I can ask the agent for J as it’s pretty much a J award.

Have you checked if there is J awards available DOH-SIN the day you want to travel, or does that just come up Y/F also?

Forget about AUH-DOH for now, there need be space DOH-SIN for a J award first.

Found where I read about the AUH-DOH bit

One question that I thought of is if I fly DFW-DOH-AUH and book DOH-AUH in “first” is the award cost 62.5k or 90k?
If it’s a J award, you will be able to ticket it at 62.5k, just make sure the AAgent understands that the DOH-AUH segment is a 2 class flight where F is really J, similar to most domestic flights in the USA. I ran into this last year on an award and it wasn’t a problem.

Well J space DOH-SIN plus F space AUH-DOH and a phone call to AA should get you a J award.

Try if you can get AA to drop the phone booking fee since if was not possible to book it online.

Once again, thank you! I really appreciate it!

They should price it as business class, and should ABSOLUTELY waive the phone fee (my current pet peeve).
