The flight I’m looking at has upgrade inventory for both J and F and a great Y fare, so I was wondering if it’s possible to use two BXP1s to double upgrade

I don’t think so. Typically you can only upgrade one level. And some airlines consider PE the next step up from Y so be sure the certificate would get you to J.

I dont think so.

First – your Y fare has to be from an eligible fare class, so deep discount economy wont be eligible. [URL]https://onemileatatime.boardingarea.com/2016/06/27/american-airlines-business-extra-program/[/URL]

Second – I think the agents will tell you that you are not eligible when they see that you dont have a paid J ticket for the upgrade to F.

However – it never hurts to ask 🙂
