Portland, OR to Yangon, Myanmar

My friend is trying to go to Myanmar (RGN) in late Sept. from PDX. She has enough Alaska points for business class round trip. What’s the best & most enjoyable way to get there (best use of points & manageable fuel surcharges) or at least nearest to Myanmar so she can buy a ticket the rest of the way?

She checked Cathay and they only have Premium Econ right now for 70k points round trip. Even so, the open seat they have is going to be extending her ideal trip time by a few days.

Other options that seem to be more open are Hainan for 100k points but $540 in fuel charges or JAL for 130k points and $~100 in fuel charges. Hainan fuel charges seem high? She can get to Bangkok on these & then buy her own ticket to Myanmar.

Which of these would you do? Are we missing anything? Any
other recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks!
